The world of Nyn over the coming months
Hail fellow Skylords!
Earlier in the year we announced that in the month of September we would be releasing more information about BattleForge and our plans for this most wonderful of games over the coming weeks and months. As September moves into its final day, we are now releasing that information. Thank you for demonstrating how patient an online community can be, we were quite impressed.
So without further ado, it’s time to delve into the details and let you know what we have in store for BattleForge!
The Watch List
The Watch List is going to receive a complete overhaul, there are two main reasons for this, and they are as follows:
- We want to shift the Watch List’s focus away from applying slight tweaks to viable cards, to making cards which receive very little use viable and attractive propositions for a competitive deck. In doing so, we hope to drastically increase the number of competitive deck builds, which will vastly increase deck variety and provide the opportunity for each Skylord to tailor his or her deck to their own play style even more than they already can. Overall this will significantly diversify deck builds, making BattleForge even more entertaining and unique.
- We want to place more power in the hands of you, the community; therefore we plan to put a system in place which will allow you to more easily suggest the cards that you want to see on the Watch List. This has the potential to hand a lot of power over the Watch List to the community. We would hope to reach the stage where the top cards suggested by the community for each Watch List, are the cards that make it in, however that very much depends on this opportunity not being taken advantage of. We haven’t finalised this process yet, in fact we will probably make tweaks to the Watch List processes over the next few iterations. We have high hopes for this; we really want to be able to put more power into YOUR hands!
Scamming
We have already put a number of safeguards in place to make it even more difficult for scammers to take cards off of unsuspecting BattleForge Skylords, however scammers are still proving to be quite a nuisance, so we will be taking further steps to make their lives miserable.
Tome Mode
We have been receiving a lot of great feedback regarding the Tome mode. It’s terrific to see so many players that want to get involved with this mode, so we’re going to be taking another look at the Tome game mode, and tweak it to make it more interesting. Make sure to opt in to receive emails from us to make sure you receive the most up to date information about this mode! Oh, and we might be releasing some trials then too.
Cheating
Although our cheat detection methods are already quite thorough, we will be working to speed up the entire detection and ban process to ensure that cheaters are caught and dealt with even more swiftly.
Amii Booster
Many Amii edition cards are out in the wild and available in the Auction house, but not from the store. Fear not! We will be releasing an Amii Edition booster that provides an alternate method for all of you Amii card gathering needs. We know you’re desperate for us to give you an ETA on this, however I’m afraid we’re not currently in a position to do that.
Greater Community Involvement
The changes to the Watch List are the first of a number of changes that we are currently investigating (for the sake of clarity this does not mean that there is a 100% chance of being able to implement the changes we are investigating, however we do want to) to allow you, the community, to have more of an input into BattleForge, and how it will look in future.
We are also looking at improving community involvement in areas such as Community Map Making where we are investigating the possibility setting up a system to allow players to easily download new maps via the game menu, including a map filtering system using criteria such as “most played”, “Newest maps” etc. We would love to hear your thoughts on this and suggestions as to what you would like to see!
We have a few more ideas that are still in the very early design stages, so we can’t go into any details yet. Overall we hope to have given you a little insight into what we have in store for BattleForge, and hope you have more to look forward to in the future!
