The oppressive rule of the giants weaves like a vile thread through the history of Nyn. For what felt like an eternity the mortal races were slaves to the powerful giants and their cruel half-giant sons, the Skanes. With days full of disgrace and suffering, it was the time at the evening fire, huddled together with their families, that gave them the strength to go on. They would tell each other epic stories of powerful heroes fighting terrible beasts, and of magical wonders that faced every hardship fate could throw at them.
Some of these stories were true, some were
exaggerations and some simply imagination, but they all warmed hearts
and softened the harsh reality of slavery.The Forge of Creation, the magical city floating above the world, has the power to bring these stories to life. It can create those mythical beasts and heroes to fight for the mortals, but it needs the elemental power of the world to give things substance. By tapping into the elemental orbs and the streams of world magic, the Skylords can grant the Forge this power.
The gods had always commanded the Skylords to remain silent and wait. But now as the gods have left, the waiting is over. Now, the Skylords unleash the full might of the Forge and summon legendary creatures to war. Some do it to help the mortals of Nyn, others to do battle among themselves. In this age, the Forge of Creation has become the BattleForge.
