Encounters with Twilight!

Goal Escourt Rogan Kayle and the human refugees safely through the level.

Deck This walkthrough has been played with the FIRE-NATURE deck. It can be played with other decks too

Starting at point S on the map, summon some Sunstriders and help Rogan finish off any enemy archers that are attacking him.  Have your archers follow Rogan toward E1 to kill the monsters there.  After E1 is clear of enemies, claim the Power Well. At this point, you can take a moment to strengthen your army.  When you are ready, work your way to R2, claiming the monument and summoning a NATURE orb.  After R2 is free of hostile forces, Rogan will come and open Gate1.  If necessary, you can hold your position at R2 and strengthen your army with more archers and some thugs before going through Gate1.

With your army ready to go, move to R3 and dispatch the incoming enemies. The enemy building at R3 is spawning enemy patrols.  Destroy it and set up a Power Well.  If needed, you can refresh your army and summon additional troops (Shamans if you have them).  Head south to R4, taking out the enemy patrol on the way, and claim the Power Well.  Attack the enemy encampment at R5. You can use your archers in Suppress Fire Mode against the tower while your troops tackle the brute.  Claim the Monument at R5 and summon a FIRE orb.  With the new orb, you are able to summon Magma Hurlers and Ember strikes. Summon one of each and head for the monsters at E2. After killing off the monsters at E2, work your way north toward Gate2, keeping an eye out for Ambush1.

After arriving at Gate2, C1 should be free of hostiles. Rogan’s group will reposition themselves at Gate2. Viridya, another Skylord, offers you a choice between taking an offensive or a defensive strategy against remaining enemies. The defensive approach employs the Screaming Stone at Q1.  In this walkthrough, we opt for the offensive route.  You should take a moment and expand your army considerably. Summon Emberstrikes, Magma Hurlers, and Sunstriders.  With the offensive route, there is no reason to rebuild the collapsed fortress.   You will see a Twilight Hulk stalking in E3. Engaging him north of Gate2 will attract enemy patrols. Try and lure the Twilight Hulk south of Gate2. Be prepared to use powerful spells to take him down.  With the Hulk dead, restock your army and head through Gate2  to R7.

Claim the Power Well at R7. You will need move on quickly. Fight your way to the enemy camp between R8 and R10 to destroy the Spawnbuilding.  If you are not quick enough here, the Spawnbuilding will regenerate the Twilight Hulk.  On your way west, try to lure hostile forces away from the village to keep your army out of the range of enemy towers located near R9. It can get a bit hectic here. Don’t hesitate to use spells! After destroying the enemy camp between R8 and R10, claim the wells and monument, and summon a FIRE orb. Clear out any remaining hostile forces in the village out R9.

Take some time to stock up your army. With the new monument, you should be able to summon a Juggernaut. Strengthen your army in any way possible, but focus on melee and ranged units.  Prepare your units for battle by placing them in different groups. Rogan and his troops will move up and open Gate3. Don’t proceed through Gate3 yet!

At E4 you can see the Twilight Wrathgazer. Select him and study his descriptive tooltip. You will see he has some special abilities. The Wrathgazer is protected by three spirits: Angry (triggers explosions), Kind (heals the Wrathgazer) and Cruel (Freezes everything in the area). Additionally, the Wrathgazer will trigger earthquakes from time to time, knocking about small units and damaging buildings. The Wrathgazer will do considerably more damage if he is not attacked in melee. Attack the Wrathgazer. Use your ranged units to keep the 3 spirits at bay. The spirits will come more frequently as you work the Wrathgazer’s life force down.   A timely Eruption or makeshift towers can help stop the spirits.   As soon as the Wrathgazer is defeated, Rogan and his troops will move on and victory is yours.
